As a leading organization in the state of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, the Wichita Chapter was formed to further the advancement and dissemination of scientific, engineering, and technical knowledge. This objective may be accomplished through education, research, manufacturing, presentations, collaboration between other organizations, personal and professional development, scholarships, competitions, and such other means as may be appropriate for the benefit of the technical community, and the general public. A Chapter formed to bring together researchers, professionals, and students alike.
The Wichita SAMPE Chapter is the sponsoring chapter for the following colleges & universities: Wichita State University, Butler County Community College, Pittsburg State University, & Oklahoma State University. Wichita, a city of more than 400,000 people, is the heart of industry and commerce in the state of Kansas. Known as the air capitol of the world, it is the local presence of six major aerospace companies: Airbus, Bombardier/Learjet, Cessna, Textron Aviation, and Spirit AeroSystems.
